Closely affiliated with the U.S. Commerce Department, TCRDEC is one of 60 District Export Councils around the country that support and amplify the U.S. government’s export promotion efforts. TCRDEC works in partnership with the International Trade Administration’s Commercial Service offices in Austin and San Antonio.
U.S. Commercial Service is part of the global network of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. The international trade specialists help Texas companies in Central and South Texas learn how to sell internationally, connect with foreign buyers, handle trade challenges, and expand operations in new markets. |
Our mission is to encourage and support exports that strengthen companies (particularly small and medium sized enterprises), stimulate U.S. economic growth, and maintain and create jobs. Export expansion activities are accomplished by working with the U.S. Commercial Service, Export Assistance Centers of the U.S. Department of Commerce in order to provide opportunities to promote greater export activity at the local level while developing a trade assistance network.
The primary objective of the TCRDEC is to support economic development and job creation in the Central/South Texas region through education, community outreach and trade policy advocacy related to international business and trade. The TCRDEC works closely with a number of like-minded national, state, and local partners and with the other DECs in Texas: North Texas, West Texas, Houston and the National Association of District Export Councils. |
